Lectures on taxation to enhance public knowledge
The State Taxation Administration (STA) launched its six-session course “Lectures on Taxation” on March 17 to inform tax and fee payers of preferential policies accurately and quickly.
The first lecture, presented by Dai Shiyou, deputy chief of the STA’s Tax Policy and Legislation Department, gave a general introduction to China’s preferential tax policies for supporting pandemic control and economic and social development.
The videotaped lecture will soon be released on STA’s Chinese website. Five other lectures will come out in the near future and cover topics including preferential policies on goods and services tax, income tax, social insurance premiums, and tax payment measures.
Dai said that since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia pandemic the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council have issued four groups of preferential tax policies to support pandemic prevention and control and economic and social development. The fourth policy group focuses on stabilizing foreign trade and investment with the aim of reducing the negative impact of the pandemic.
