STA implements 10 new measures to improve integration of Yan

Updated: 2020-08-12

Following the introduction of 16 tax service measures last year, the State Taxation Administration (STA) has implemented another 10 measures to further boost the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta, promote the integration of tax management and simplify the taxation process.

The Yangtze River Delta accounts for only 3.7 percent of China's land area but is home to 14 percent of the country's population. The region contributes 23.5 percent of China's GDP and 31 percent of national tax revenue.

The new 10 measures introduced by STA are intended to improve big data tax service capabilities, promote the application of value-added tax electronic invoices, implement the combined declaration of urban land-use tax, real estate tax, stamp tax and land value-added tax, explore tax declaration pre-filing services, simplify tax preference procedures,  and promote the unification of tax policy implementation standards.

Guo Hongbao, a professor from the finance department at Zhejiang Gongshang University, said that STA's latest measures are well prepared and are being launched at the right time. The implementation of these policies will accelerate the integration process of the Yangtze River Delta and have a positive effect on China’s internal circulation system.
